I know I won't be playing Crysis or anything, but how well will it be able to run games from a couple years ago like Rome Total War or World of WarcraftHow well will the Sony Vaio P netbook be able to run games with Windows 7?
I have tried the Sony Vaio P series, its a Compact Business class notebook, its not a Playstation, it dose support playing NFS Most Wanted, UG2 and stuffs, GTA San Andreas works on it, i have tried and tested, but on such small screen and onboard shared graphics memory, you cannot get the ultimate performance compared to gaming systems.
Windows Seven is itself heavy, its heavier than windows vista, so i guess u will get the idea that installing windows seven and running it are 2 big issues itself for sony p series, and considering playing games, u will be crying on the FPS/Slow issues.How well will the Sony Vaio P netbook be able to run games with Windows 7?
Well from what I have heard,Windows 7 will follow in it's elders (vista) footsteps and be a memory hog,so take that into consideration.
The P series is mainly meant for use like a netbook,well it is,but it has even less features then a netbook so I strongly suggest getting a regular laptop or Netbook.

If I upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, will all of my files from Vista be deleted?
This question may sound obvious to most people, but it has been a very long time since I last updated to a new Windows OS.
My Vista computer has a lot of my games on it, from Team Fortress 2 to Crysis. I don't want to lose all of my saved games.
So, my question is; If I upgrade to Windows 7, will my Windows Vista files still be there?
Such as Steam, Crysis, GTA4, TF2, etc?
Or will I have to back them up to an external source and copy them to 7 at a later time?
Also, when I installed Vista, there were many driver problems with the video card. Will installing Windows 7 make these problems reappear?
Please provide as much information as possible, I really do want to get Windows 7, but if it is going to delete all of my saved games and cause video driver problems, just like Vista did, I really might reconsider.

It depends on how you upgrade your computer. If you upgrade, as another poster mentions your files will be saved to Windows.old for you to restore after installation is complete. If you choose to do a custom installation your drive will essentially be reformatted so you should backup all of your programs, files and settings. I installed a new graphics card(powercolor HD4850 512mb) and downloaded all the updates and everything is up to date.
I bought COD: MW2, Crysis warhead, and GTA IV to play them on my PC.
When I play any of them, my system crashes after 10 minutes of playing when everything is going smooth.
It doesn't lag at all even at ultra-high settings and pretty sure the graphics card can handle more than Crysis.
Could it be windows 7 64-bit incompatibility or the graphics card?
BTW: complete unresponsiveness of system occurs only when playing video games.Graphics card or Windows 7 64-bit?
you should go for 32 bit windows versions those are much more stable than 64 bit versions when your using applications softwares and games ... also make sure you got enough ram installed in your pc ... but in my guess this must be the system so i suggest you reinstall a 32 bit windows version that means windows seven 32 bit or windows vista 32 bit ... dont go for windows xp versions as it lags too much and got limited 3d gaming compatiability ...

So, I've been running Crysis with my ATi HD 4670 from HIS (IceQ version 512MB) fairly good on Windows XP SP3/ SP2. I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 and I reinstalled Crysis. At first, I had some problems with running the game in windowed mode but I've managed to solve them (by patching the game to 1.2 version)... but after that I realized that if I don't run the game in 1024 x 768 or in 1280x1024 (my native LCD resolution) the game will show off only in the center of the screen, for example: If I want to run the game at 1152x864, some black big contour will remain around the displayed image. To be more precise, the game won't upscale to all the screen... so it's VERY annoying! Yes. You dont really need to depend on more ram to make games work better. RAM uses a MHz term, used for speed it runs at while doing temporary memory storage or transferring data. 4GB of RAM is plenty for a video game for this era.
You want to check your Manual on your motherboard to see even if your motherboard can handle more ram. Not so much on the OS you are looking at. Most newer motherboards that use the DDR3 setup, have allowed up to 4gb on 32bit OS's and 8gb of 64bit OS's. DDR2 is the same for 32bit and only 6gb on 64bit. Unless you have a custom built gaming machine (not referring to the Dell products, those are not custom).

I recommend getting Windows 7 64 bit with your configuration. With 32 bit, you will not be able to utilize all of your RAM, but only about 3 GB. Once you have the Windows disk you can ask Microsoft to mail you the 64 bit version for free.

Crysis audio problem in windows 7 & pc lights don't turn off after shuting down?
My problem is, whenever i play crysis 1 or crysis warhead, the sound gets slower then the game(display). I here the sound as if everything is happening in a tunnel or a cave. I mean its like reverb, that too very slow....but it doesn't happen while playing songs or videos.
it never happened when i played this game on windows xp. Other game like COD Black Ops runs a bit slower than it ran on Xp, and sometimes, that crysis sound problem comes in this game too. But in a lesser amount (for 1 or 2 seconds)....
The other games like NFS Hot Persuit and Devil May Cry 4 runs smoothly with no sound issues....
One more thing, for sometime in some levels the sound is ok in crysis %26amp; warhead. But in some action scenes and sometimes for no reasons the sounds starts cracking and gets slow....
I tried reducing the visual and audio effects to LOW form game's advanced settings. but saw no improvement. Whenever i install realtek audio driver for windows 7, the sound gets worse and i can here distortion on playing songs and videos also.
I also tried changing the audio frequency from control panel%26gt;sound%26gt;playback devices.....
But no joy.
I think it may be because of

2%26gt;i installed directx 9.0c after installing windows 7 coz i didn't knew windows 7 has pre installed directx 11. May be my directx installation overwrited some directx 11 files.

Ok i use to have windows vista 32 bit and could run it perfectly on 40fps of very high. But about a week ago i upgraded it to windows 7 build 7100 64 bit. Build 7100 is an old build. Build 7600 is the current build and is the same as the one that's shipping tomorrow as the final retail release. There have been a lot of big stability and performance improvements since 7100. So, get the final retail version and there's a good chance that it'll work much better.

Hi I got my new computer today and I can't figure out why it's crashing for example it will crash if:
The resolution is changed, in-game keybinds, or anything that will increase or decrease graphics.

If I remember correctly there is a option in game where you can disable dx10. Just go into options, video settings or something like that.

Crysis Windows 7 Professional x64 weird framerate issue.?
I've had a legit 64-bit copy of Windows 7 Professional (got it for $30 because I'm a college student) for about 2-3 weeks now. I love it to death, kudos to Microsoft. However I have one annoying issue with Crysis, as well as Crysis: WARHEAD. During gameplay, if I'm facing one way then suddenly turn 180 degrees in any other direction, my FPS drops noticeably for about 2-5 seconds, then boosts back up. It happens almost everywhere in the game where there's AI or particle effects and it's really been bugging me. I've shelled out an assload of money in the past two months just trying to get my PC to run this ******* game. This weird framerate issue is the only thing that stands in my way. I recently updated from an Asus P5n-e SLI with 2 gigs of Crucial Ballistix to new specs which are right here:
