Graphics card or Windows 7 64-bit?

I installed a new graphics card(powercolor HD4850 512mb) and downloaded all the updates and everything is up to date.

I bought COD: MW2, Crysis warhead, and GTA IV to play them on my PC.

When I play any of them, my system crashes after 10 minutes of playing when everything is going smooth.

It doesn't lag at all even at ultra-high settings and pretty sure the graphics card can handle more than Crysis.

Could it be windows 7 64-bit incompatibility or the graphics card?

BTW: complete unresponsiveness of system occurs only when playing video games.Graphics card or Windows 7 64-bit?
you should go for 32 bit windows versions those are much more stable than 64 bit versions when your using applications softwares and games ... also make sure you got enough ram installed in your pc ... but in my guess this must be the system so i suggest you reinstall a 32 bit windows version that means windows seven 32 bit or windows vista 32 bit ... dont go for windows xp versions as it lags too much and got limited 3d gaming compatiability ...

dont be fooled by the first answerers answer , windows 7 will run just fine with ur graphic card ... the 4850 hd could handle anything including vista which means windows 7 is just a simple os for such a graphic card cuz windows 7 use lower system resources than vista ...

so the last answer is its either the ram thats low if not ur system is having errors get and reinstall a 32 bit os ... plus check if ur psu is enough for ur graphic card ... 450 original psu will be needed for a 4850 hd vga (not china made psu's) ...Graphics card or Windows 7 64-bit?
It could be coz windows 7 requires a higher specifications of graphic cards.

try to upgrade your graphic card instead or look for a cooling fan coz it can also be due to heat.Graphics card or Windows 7 64-bit?
Did you make sure that your PC is properly cooled?? system overheat can cause freezing up/slowing down/Shutdowns.

Here: Some CPU Coolers that may help:

Remove and re-attach the video card to remove doubts of a loose contact. Add more cooling fans (for inflow and outflow). Clean your RAM chips. Good luck.
