If I upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, will all of my files from Vista be deleted?

This question may sound obvious to most people, but it has been a very long time since I last updated to a new Windows OS.

My Vista computer has a lot of my games on it, from Team Fortress 2 to Crysis. I don't want to lose all of my saved games.

So, my question is; If I upgrade to Windows 7, will my Windows Vista files still be there?

Such as Steam, Crysis, GTA4, TF2, etc?

Or will I have to back them up to an external source and copy them to 7 at a later time?

Also, when I installed Vista, there were many driver problems with the video card. Will installing Windows 7 make these problems reappear?

Please provide as much information as possible, I really do want to get Windows 7, but if it is going to delete all of my saved games and cause video driver problems, just like Vista did, I really might reconsider.

Also, will my computer be able to run Windows 7?

Does my video card have a Windows 7 driver?

Here are my basic computer specs.

Video Card - AMD Radeon 4850

Processor - Intel I7 920 @ 2.66GHz

RAM - 12GB

My main worries are that my video card wont work correctly with Windows 7, leaving games like Crysis looking like a PS2 game. Or that it wont work at all.

Thank you.If I upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, will all of my files from Vista be deleted?
It depends on how you upgrade your computer. If you upgrade, as another poster mentions your files will be saved to Windows.old for you to restore after installation is complete. If you choose to do a custom installation your drive will essentially be reformatted so you should backup all of your programs, files and settings. For a basic step-by-step guide to upgrading go here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windo鈥?/a>

As for your drivers, you can check the compatibly center for hardware, but you should be able to find driver updates for most if not all of your drivers, here is more information: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windo鈥?/a>

They all get saved in a folder called "Windows.old" in your computerIf I upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista, will all of my files from Vista be deleted?
Do you want to update your driver? You can try Driver Robot; It can scan your system and locate the exact drivers you need to update automatically, save me a lot of time and frustration. Take a look here.

All of your applications should move over when you upgrade. But you should definitely back up your valuable files. Most of your drivers should update automatically and most Vista drivers work for Windows 7 if there is not a new one available yet.
